Sailing Vessel S/V Eloxy at back of the pack on Sunday morning

Day Two

Just Barely Into Sunday

Around 1:30am on Sunday, making some ground and 'almost' with the pack. You can even see the red rumb line. Being in the same photo as the rumb line, was progress! The boat was great all night and all day!

Sunday Morning Sunrise

Other than cleaning up bugs, my first morning did not disappoint, the sunrise was beautiful and I was happy as a clam! Just wishing for more wind! Unbeknownst to me the wind was headed my way! Falling behind again, which is mostly where S/V Eloxy stayed for the duration of the trip; but no concern here, being in for the long haul was the objective!

Oh boy, look at those nice tidy lines; look at the sunrise instead! 🙄 The bugs uncoiled those lines; that's my story! sunday-morning-sunrise.webp After cleaning the cockpit that morning a cup of Starbucks Cold Brew coffee (thank you 'aunt' Joni for introducing that to me) with some heavy cream was in order and it tasted wonderful! The cold coffee hit the spot and was easy to make while under sail.

Most of that day, and into Sunday evening was nice, easy sailing, which suited me fine, because there was lots of sleeping, which made up for my allergies affecting my sleep the night before.

Sunday Night Sleep

Sunday night was sweet sleeping! Literally sleeping with a small kitchen timer, set it to wake me every 20 minutes, worked perfectly. That night, my siestas were inside the cabin, only popping out long enough to check sails, the rest of the boat and make sure there was no boat traffic etc. before sleeping the next 20 minutes. This pattern continued throughout the night. 😴

Wind!

Waking up after my final 20 minute nap on the morning of Monday, August 15... there was lots of wind and a building sea state. Amazing really, there was any sleeping going on! 💨
